So Jesus told them…

So Jesus told them, “I am not teaching you my own thoughts, but those of God who sent me. If any of you really determines to do God’s will, then you will certainly know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own. Anyone persenting his own ideas is looking for praise for himself, but anyone seeking to honor the one who sent him is a good and true person”. Joh 7:16-18

I wanna be a billionaire

I wanna be a billionaire is one of the new catchy tunes that find its way through our ears into our soul via radio. Music and song are a medium that display the latest trend and mood of a society. If there is a war, (and there is always one somewhere), that receives enough media attention then song writers will soon be penning down words about universal love, drop the guns and let’s embrace peace brother. Freedom songs are a fore runner to prepare a society for change and usher in a new government or political party. So, messages through song and music are powerful!

The song says: I wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad, buy those things I never had. I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine, smiling next to Ophra and the Queen…

Switch on your TV and most reality series are about improving your image, your body, your house, your love life and while you’re at it, just go ahead and  ‘make yourself over’ completely. Songs about ‘Don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me’ and ‘I am the world’s greatest’, frequently hit the number one spot on world charts.

It goes on to say: Every time I close my eyes, I see my name in shining lights. A different city every night, I swear the world better prepare for when I am a billionaire…

The celebrity phenomena have hit us BIG TIME. We all want to wear the celebrity coat and make our claim to fame even if it’s just for one night. The ‘desire industry’ tries to persuade us that we are ‘entitled’ to have it all. You have a ‘right’ to glory they say. The modern word for false glory is ‘celebrity’.

Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love these things you show that you do not really love God; for all these worldly things, these evil desires – the craze for sex, the ambition to buy everything that appeals to you, and the pride that comes from wealth and importance – these are not from God. They are from this evil world itself. And this world is fading away, and these evil, forbidden things will go with it, but whoever keeps doing the will of God will live forever. 1 John 2:15 – 17

It is not wrong to work hard, make money and enjoy the fruits of you labour. In fact it is recommended.  The sad part is that we are told through songs, TV and society that our self worth and the quality of our lives, or happiness are measured by how much money, fame, beauty and bling bling we posses. Ordinary is suddenly boring.

On the contrary Jesus said lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust spoils, and where thieves dig through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust spoils, and where thieves do not dig through nor steal; for where thy treasure is, there will be also thy heart. Mat 6:19 – 21

The book of Jude warns us in verse 16: These men are constant gripers, never satisfied, doing whatever evil they feel like; they are loud-mouthed “show-offs,” and when they show respect for others, it is only to get something from them in return.

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts. Amen 1 John 5:21

Coco Chanel once said…

Coco Chanel once said “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume, is a woman without a future”. Perfume is one of my passions in life so I truly love this statement.

The art of the perfumer is as ancient as time itself. It’s first mentioned in the book of Exodus where God says to Moses (and gives him the recipe), “Take sweet spices, stacte,  onycha, and galbanum, sweet spices with pure frankincense, an equal amount of each.  And make of them incense, a perfume after the perfumer’s art, seasoned with salt and mixed, pure and sacred”. Become An Astronaut

When I was young I always said, that if the good Lord blessed me with a lot of grey matter, I would have become an astronaut! I really mean it. It would be awesome to step into space. But in this life here on earth it was not meant to be for me. However, being a born-again child of God, that world is awaiting me in eternity. I shall step out into space… one day! Sleepless In Seattle

My friend Martie complained of having sleepless nights! The first thought that crossed my mind is that she must be in some difficulty. I immediately inquired from her if that is the case. She said no, but she can’t seem to “switch off” at night. That’s when it hit me… I am not the only one that goes to bed with a dead tired body but after the light goes out the checkered flag is raised and the Monaco Grand Prix starts up in my head. Thoughts racing at 200 km per hour but they can never seem to cross the finish line. Click to read more…

However today I want to draw your attention to what God says about a fool. Click to read more…

That Truth will be revealed…

Recently the words “That Truth will be revealed and the real facts come into the light” came to my attention. You know there is a saying that says: There are two sides to the story, my side and your side. But actually there are 3 sides to every story, my side, your side and the right side! I want to focus on the right side of the story. Click to read more…
